Exclusive access to numerous trout fishing hot spots ensures privacy, serenity and great fishing for Nahuel Huapi anglers. Complimenting the great trout fishing, the modern fishing lodge provides fantastic views and all the comforts of home. We invite you to join us for what is often referred to as “the fishing trip of a lifetime.”

The Fishing

High Season – November to December and March to April

(Evening dry-fly fishing can be great Jan and Feb)
The most important trout fishing river in the area is the Rio Manso. The river flows in and out of numerous area lakes, many of which are on our property. We have exclusive trout fishing access to 20 miles of the Rio Manso. We also fish in several smaller tributaries. Though the trout fishing locations and tactics change throughout the November to April season, the fishing can be excellent the entire season. One of the great advantages of the this fishing lodge is that anglers not only enjoy river fishing, but get to mix things up with great lake fishing too. The lake flats and shallows are ideal for bountiful Brooks. Typically, we fish the lakes Hess, Fonck, Roca, Moscos and Cesares. All trout fishing areas, rivers and lakes, are less than 20 minutes away from the fishing lodge. The trout fishing demands a variety of streamers, nymphs and dries. Recommended rod is a 5.weight with floating as well as fast sinking lines. Averaging 18-20" trout and 10 hits per rod are not unusual. Occasionally, anglers pull in 25-28” trout as well.

The Lodge
The fishing lodge is not only comfortable and elegant, but new as well. Built by fishermen for fishermen, Nahuel Huapi has all the necessities of a fishing lodge and then some. All rooms have breathtaking views of the area glaciers as well as Hess Lake. By limiting capacity to only 8 rods, all guests enjoy personable service and plenty of elbow room (in the lodge and out on the water). Single rooms are provided for all anglers, and four of the rooms have private Jacuzzis. Gourmet foods and fine wines are part of the fishing lodge experience. Laundry service and Internet access is available to all guests.

Perfect for photographers, breathtaking scenery and exotic wildlife waits at every turn. Non-anglers also have the options of guided bird watching tours and horseback riding.

Specifically, the fishing lodge is on the west bank of the Rio Manso and on the south shore of Hess Lake. Beautiful views of Mount Tronador and its glaciers surround the fishing lodge.
