South Andros, The Bahamas

Since the early 1990´s this fishing lodge has been widely considered the finest fishing lodge in the Bahamas. Anglers come from all over the world for incredible Caribbean bonefish fishing and the chance to land the occasional tarpon, snook or permit. Other species anglers regularly encounter include jacks, a verity of snapper and barracuda.

Strategically located near the Southern Cays, the famous West Side, Little Creek and Deep Creek, there is special access to the most under-fished flats in South Andros.

The Fishing

Season Split - October 15 to December 15 and January 15 to July 01

Andros has long been considered the home of the Caribbean’s BIG bonefish. Specifically, the West Side of South Andros has made a name for itself as the place to be for “Giant” bonefish. The Andros flats are noted for being among the largest and most diverse in the world. Here anglers have the opportunity to wade fish, fish from the ocean flats, fish in the creeks or fish from a boat. A wide variety of fishing venues in classic bonefish fishing environments, the quantity of the bonefish, and the size of the bonefish make South Andros the “Bonefish Capital of the World.” The incredible bonefish fishing is complimented by the chance to try for tarpon, snook and permit, tarpon. Offshore fishing opportunities include tuna, billfish (seasonal), Wahoo, Dorado, Barracuda, Snapper and Grouper.

The Lodge
This fishing lodge is situated between the sea and our own jetty. The fishing lodge has the feel of an elegant Plantation home, but is landscaped with palm trees and beautiful wildflowers. The striking beachfront, sparkling white, lies just in front of the fishing lodge. Lounging and Dining The spacious living room and dining area combine to provide the perfect setting to get the fishing day started with a buffet-style breakfast and take in the sunrise. In the evenings, anglers enjoy swapping fishing stories in our beautiful, well-stocked barroom. Though most guests come here to get away from “the grind,” satellite television keeps guests updated on news and sporting events. Bedrooms and Verandah All seven of our en suite bedrooms are air conditioned and roomy. Groups are limited to twelve rods at a time to ensure fantastic fishing for all, and plenty of comfort and personable service at the fishing lodge. Most of the bedrooms open to a long patio facing the ocean. Perfect for sipping coffee in the morning or nursing a cocktail in the evening, the veranda offers beautiful views and a calming ambience.

Location
This fishing lodge is located in the heart of bonefish heaven in South Andros, The Bahamas. Andros is one the largest of the Bahamas islands, but luckily remains one of the least developed. Just off of the coast of Andros, is the world’s third largest barrier reef.
